Terms of Service
Plain language, because trust matters more than legalese. See also our Privacy Policy and Trust Center.
The short version
Nave gives each parish a website and back office on shared infrastructure. Use it for your parish's legitimate ministry, keep your account secure, and respect the people whose data you steward. We'll keep the service running, protect your data, and never sell it. Where this page and your parish's signed agreement differ, the agreement wins.
Who we are
Nave is operated by [Nave, Inc.] ("Nave," "we," "us"). These terms cover nave.live and the Nave platform — each parish's public site, member portal, and admin back office.
Accounts & access
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Parish administrators decide who gets access and at what role. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You must be old enough to form a binding agreement to hold an administrative account.
Acceptable use
Use Nave lawfully and in keeping with its purpose. Don't attempt to access another parish's data, probe or break the service's security, upload malware, scrape it, misuse it to harass anyone, or use it for anything illegal. We may suspend access that puts the platform or other parishes at risk.
Your content & data
Content a parish and its people enter belongs to the parish — we claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the permission needed to host, display, translate, back up, and operate the service on your behalf. You're responsible for having the right to share what you upload and for following the privacy expectations of your community.
Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy and Trust Center, which form part of these terms. In short: we isolate each parish's data, encrypt it, never sell it, and honor access, correction, and deletion requests.
Payments & giving
Where a parish enables online giving, payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms; card and bank details never pass through Nave's servers. Subscription fees for Nave (where applicable) are set out in your parish's agreement or order. Donations belong to the parish, not to Nave.
Availability & changes
We work to keep Nave available and secure, but we don't promise uninterrupted service, and the platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent the law allows. We improve and change features over time; we won't materially reduce the core service a parish relies on without reasonable notice.
Ending the relationship
A parish can stop using Nave at any time and request an export and deletion of its data. We may end or suspend service for serious or repeated violations of these terms, ordinarily with notice. On termination, we'll make your data available for a reasonable period before deletion.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Nave isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited as set out in your parish's agreement. Nothing here limits anything that can't lawfully be limited.
Governing law & updates
These terms are governed by the laws of [State/Jurisdiction]. We may update them as the service evolves; we'll post the date below and, for material changes, give parishes reasonable notice. Continuing to use Nave after a change means you accept the updated terms.
